The percentage is how much visible light the film lets through: 70% is a light film that cuts heat and glare without changing the look, 35% is a noticeable darkening, and 5% is the darkest, often called limo tint. Tint percentages explained

Black Optic is top notch in everything: you won't be disappointed. I have never seen the care and attention to detail in making absolutely every detail of the work of tinting my vehicle windows as I have seen today. I highly recommend and give Tanner and his fabulous team of experts these five stars. He welcomed me and gave me the wifi address while I waited and offered me cold water. We discussed all the windows and exactly what I wanted to achieve and when done I walked all the way around my car and it all looks fabulous. I wanted the tint that controls the level of light and heat that enters the car and provides privacy because I was just sideswiped and got a dash cam, too. And, they have a treatment for the front windshield that reduces glare which I need badly for night driving. Best of luck to all of you at Black Optix, and to Tanner, in Franklin! Thank you! I almost forgot; my dash cam fell off the front windshield after re-mounting after the job and he offered to fix it, too! Call them today!
I was referred here from my car salesman and I’m 100% beyond satisfied with Black Optix Tint! They did a professional job covering every detail. The staff was friendly and the price was right!! After I left I noticed my 2nd key fob was missing and called down there. It had been accidentally left on the counter. I told them it’s fine if they mailed it to me…. But one of the guys actually drove it to my place an hour away!! Now that’s profession over-the-top service!! I was there for about an hour and a half. In that time they took off the dealer installed tint and limo’d the entire SUV. Quickest tint job I think I’ve ever been a part of and I’ve paid for dozens! What Franklin drivers ask most.
Most installs take 1-2 hours. The exact time depends on how many windows you're having done, the film you choose, and your vehicle, so larger jobs run a bit longer. You'll get a clear time estimate when you book, and almost everything is finished the same day.
Properly installed Optix film shouldn't. Bubbling, peeling, and that purple fade usually come from bargain film or rushed installs. Every Optix film is USA-made, color-stable, and installed by trained technicians. If a problem does show up, your film's warranty covers bubbling, peeling, and fading under normal use. Coverage depends on the film you choose. Your shop will go over the terms before your install, and they're printed on your receipt.
Give the film 3-5 days to cure before lowering the windows so it can fully bond. You can drive right away, just leave the windows up for a few days.
Hybrid film pairs a color-stable dye with a non-conductive metal layer for a real step up in heat rejection, without blocking phone or GPS signal. Nano-ceramic film uses ceramic particles instead of dyes or metals to reject the most infrared heat, and is the top pick for the hottest summer days.
Tint laws vary by state and even by vehicle window. Your Franklin technician knows the regulations in Tennessee and will help you choose a tint level that's compliant and looks great.
