The process
What to expect when you book a ceramic coating
Ceramic coating is a multi-step process that starts with a thorough prep and ends with a finish that lasts for years. Here’s what to expect.
Surface Prep & Decontamination
Before any coating goes on, we wash, clay bar, and decontaminate the surface to remove embedded dirt, tar, and residue. On vehicles with swirl marks or minor scratches, we do a paint correction to get the surface as clean and smooth as possible. The coating bonds to whatever is underneath it, so prep is everything.
Coating Application
The coating is applied panel by panel in a controlled environment. Our technicians work in layers, ensuring even coverage with no high spots or streaking. Depending on the package, your vehicle may receive one or more layers for added thickness and longevity.
Cure Time & Aftercare
After application, the coating needs time to cure. We’ll let you know when your vehicle is ready to pick up and give you specific aftercare instructions, including when you can wash it and what products to use. Following those steps keeps the coating performing at its best for the full life of the warranty.

How long does a ceramic coating last?
It depends on the product and the number of layers applied. Our System X Ceramic Coatings are engineered for multi-year protection. Your technician will explain the options and help you choose the right package for how you use your vehicle.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
If you want long-term paint protection with less maintenance, yes. A ceramic coating reduces wash frequency, makes cleaning easier, and protects against UV damage, bird droppings, and water spots. It also adds a deep gloss that wax can’t match over time.
What’s the difference between ceramic coating and wax?
Wax sits on top of the paint and wears off in weeks. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the surface and lasts for years. It provides stronger protection, better hydrophobic performance, and a more durable shine. Wax is maintenance. Ceramic coating is protection.
How long does the ceramic coating process take?
Most vehicles require a full day for proper surface prep, paint correction (if needed), coating application, and initial cure time. We’ll give you an estimated pickup time when you drop off.
Can I wash my car after getting a ceramic coating?
Yes, but not immediately. The coating needs time to fully cure, usually a few days to a week depending on conditions. Your technician will give you specific aftercare instructions, including what soaps and products to use going forward.
